This is a fantastic restaurant and serves super flavorful vegetarian dishes. The ambience is perfect for a date or celebratory dinner. My friend hosted her bach dinner celebration here and the custom menu was amazing - I loved their muhammara and charred eggplant apps, plus their pita bread was extremely delicious (probably one of the best I've had so far). We also ordered the - Brussels sprouts: it was sweet, salty and crispy. It was perfectly baked and seasoned. - falafel: very crunchy and flavorful. It was paired well with their dip - mushroom dish: I'm not a fan of mushroom so I did not like this much but it's great for mushroom lovers - village salad: the dressing paired well with the salad ingredients I loved the appetizers much more than the entrees and I would definitely go here again just for that next time I'm in Austin again

Amazing experience overall! The food and service were fantastic. My favorite item was the garlic hummus! Flavorful and paired well with the pita bread! The bread itself was great. Bread was soft, flavorful and light. Kept eating all the pita bread and was too full by the time the rest of the items came The falafel was great! A bit crunchy and soft on the inside. It paired with avocado tzatziki! Short Rib Shakshuka - short ribs were very tender, pulled apart easily. Lots of potatoes were in this dish!

I've been visiting Austin for years, and for some reason I've always miss this spot! Well, never again because this is the spot to visit when on Soco! Fair warning, the restaurant fills quickly. We luckily snagged a patio seat while the restaurant was hosting a private party. Amongst the sweeping trees, everything I tried, and I mean everything had me wanting more. If I could recommend only one dish it would be either whipped feta, or a seafood dish. However, this is one of those restaurants where you can't go wrong! It's the perfect spot to take a friend and try something new. If you find yourself doing the tourist thing on SOCO, definitely drop into Aba and give them a try!

I returned to Aba again to have another lovely experience. It was chilly and rainy and they moved heaters and umbrellas to ensure we didn't get wet. Our waitress was very attentive and fun. We had the salmon, green falafel and whipped feta. We completed the meal with sticky date cake. I love love love this place. It's my happy place.

Aba came highly recommend by a friend and Austin local. We visited on a weekday for an early dinner. We didn't have a reservation, but we were able to put our name down for a short wait. They said they would contact us when our table was ready, so we walked around for a little bit until we received their text. We were seated outside on their beautiful patio towards the back. It was a beautiful evening in Austin and the setting was perfect for it. Our server greeted us shortly after being seated, and was wonderful throughout the entire meal. We ordered several items to share including the garlic hummus, yellowtail, and the whipped feta with pistachios on the side. All of them were very fresh and delicious with my favorites being a tie between the yellowtail and whipped feta. For my entree, I ordered the halibut, but by the time it arrived, I was full from the appetizers so I decided to take it to go. However, I did take a couple of bites. It was cooked perfectly. I also enjoyed their espresso martini, which was excellent. It was a very memorable meal and definitely worth my friend's hype!

Ever since my first visit to Aba, I've raved about it to everyone back home in Dallas. Their espresso martini is my absolute favorite--it's truly unique compared to any other I've tried, and I make it a point to stop by every time I'm in Austin just for that drink. My friend ordered the Unplugged, but it didn't impress us as much. As for the food, it was okay overall. We tried the jumbo lump crab cakes, braised beef short ribs, and chocolate chocolate cake: * The crab cakes lacked crab meat, and the frisée on the side was way too salty. The sauce was unremarkable. * The braised beef short ribs were tender and perfectly cooked--the beef was the highlight! However, the polenta's grainy texture didn't pair well with the smoothness of the beef for me. * The chocolate chocolate cake was mediocre, though the whipped cream served with it was exceptional--thick and well-made, even winning me over despite not liking whipped cream. The service was okay--it was busy, so attention was a bit lacking, but we had a nice conversation with the server at the end. The ambiance, as always, was moody and amazing. This experience wasn't as great as my first visit, but I realized it's because I didn't stick to the Mediterranean dishes this time. Moving forward, I'll focus on those instead, as they seem to be Aba's true strength. Still a solid spot, especially for that espresso martini!

I came with a friend who claimed this was the best Mediterranean food in town so I had high expectations. I was surprised that the prices weren't unusually high for Austin since I felt Aba had an exclusive and influencer reputation when it opened. The ambience is really beautiful and warm. We chose an outdoor table and were seated at the bar area which was an extension of the restaurant but there's a patio to the left I definitely wish I sat at. The food was good though I don't necessarily agree with my friend. Of the dishes we ordered, the grilled halloumi and muhammara were worth trying and the pita was deliciously seasoned with herbs and complementary. However the brussel sprouts and lamb/beef kefta tasted pretty standard in my opinion. I expected the kefta to be juicy and tender but it honestly tasted like the ones I make at home, but the rice on the dish was really fragrant. Service was friendly enough. Overall, I wouldn't be opposed to coming again for a nice meal but don't feel the need to come here to satisfy my Mediterranean cravings.

Aba gets 5 stars from me because it's an absolutely amazing place! It's a super swanky spot with modern touches, in the SoCo area of Austin. There is a large space inside, with low lights and great ambiance. Outside, there is a patio area with tables and chairs, along with a separate full bar/patio area outside as well! It makes you feel like you're dining in another place! The food - beyond amazing and fresh! The Greek Village Salad, Brussels, Olives & Feta, Shawarma-Spiced Prime Skirt Steak Frites and Grilled Chicken Kebabs - they were all delicious! The Lavender G&T was also perfectly balanced! The staff was amazing as well! Super attentive, great recommendations and friendly! I can't wait to go back and try some other dishes!
